Music to Go

This coming weekend I'm heading to Bethany with the youth group for Booster. The dilemma is that my car (Erwin) only has a tape player. So I've been thinking about making a few tapes for the road. Which got me wondering what songs should I take on a road trip. I am totally seeking others thoughts.

What do you like to travel to?
What are the ultimate road trip songs?
Quote of the Day:

I don't think you have enough room for me to answer this question here. Road music changes with the time of the year, and autumn is a hard time to go with. but for some general road music:
"Call it Stormy Monday" B.B. King
"Playing with My Friends" B.B. King & Robert Cray
"Bad to the Bone" George Thorogood
"Johnny B Good" Chuck Berry
"American Pie" Don Mclean
"Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" Otis Redding
"Sweet Home Alabama" Lynard Skynard
"Free Bird" Lynard Skynard
"Brown Eyed Girl" Van Morrison
"Mack the Knife" either Louis Armstrong or Michael Buble
"Georgia On My Mind" Louis Armstrong
"Nice 'n Easy" Frank Sinatra or Michael Buble
"For ONce in My Life" Michael Buble
Any thing from the "O, Brother Where Art thou?" Soundtrack
The entirety of Nickel Creek's first and sencond albums
"I'm no the King" Audio Adrenaline
"Enough" BarlowGirl
Any of Bebo Norman's albums
"Colifornia" Hawk Nelson
"Every Little Thing" Hawk Nelson
Letters to the President" Hawk Nelson
Jars of Clay's original album
"Hallelujah" The O.C. Supertones
"Away from You" The O.C. Supertones
"Chase the Sun" O.C Supertones
"Hanani" O.C. Supertones
"Revolution" O.C. Supertones
Relient K's "The Anatomy of Tongue in Cheek
"Caroline" Seventh Day Slumber
"Oceans From the Rain" Seventh Day slumber
Switchfoot...anything from Switchfoot
Third Day's "Time" and "Conspiricy No. 5"
Caedmon's Call is great for a road trip
"Alaska or Bust" Andrew Peterson
"No More Faith" Andrew Peterson
"Venus" Andrew Peterson

Well, that's my short list...I've got more if you want it. ;)

Aaron, your the best. I knew that if anyone answered it would be you and that you'd have a list. Email me, I'd love to see the rest of the list.

Anyone else got any suggestions? Travel music what would you listen to?

what defines travel favorites as opposed to other favorites?

i like last of the mohicans soundtrack to zone out in, and also flood by jars of clay. i like the piano man by billy joel, and wonderful by everclear.

check my music blog friend.

Anything Kirk Franklin or Israel Houghton. Not only is it great music, but it has gotten me through the whole boring state called PA on my way to B-Lo

Rushing over to check out the music blog. Thanks for commenting Jo. I am sad that we keep missing each other online. i don't think there is really much difference between travel music and favourite music. they over lap so much.

but then there are aways some great songs that add to the whole road trip experience. some times its oldies that you might not listen to regularly or maybe a silly song.

i remember a few good youth group road trips listening to free at last and jesus freaks. i wonder where my dc talk is packed....thanks for the suggestions heather.

I'm a fan of Destyn's child or out of eden for road trips, and also evenscence, plumb, jewel and sined oconner. yeah, doesn't really all go together, but it works.

while you're at booster i'll have my baby! the section is at 8 am here (11 for you)! check your email, you'll have pictures!

Whenever I'm on a super long road trip, I listen to "I would walk 500 miles" by The Proclaimers on repeat, for the entire trip. I find it soothing and relaxing, and moderately meditative. It tunes me into the universe and enables me to attain higher consciousnesses.

Fight the power.
