WIP: Mar 18
Another week -another update. Welcome to this week's Wednesday Works in Progress Update.
Crochet:
I got another row finished on the blanket. It is a slow and steady project, some might call it a marathon. What I have found helpful is keeping the project in a cute basket near the couch. It has made it easier to pick up and work on it while watching tv or listening to an audiobook. I also plan to bring it with me to the next community board games day.
I've also been working on the elephant lovey. I have plans for one more lovey after this and then I think I will take a break from crochet loveys
School:
I am about halfway through my masters program. Working full time means that I have been enrolling in one course a term. I am currently taking "Radical Hospitality." Remaining assignments are one short 500 word reflection and the major paper (13-15 pages). I have begun research on the final paper. I will have the first draft for next Wednesday.
Kanban Board:
I am going to be adding three colour categories this week. The first will be adding a "yarn" colour for any crochet or knitting projects. These projects already exist but were included in my general projects (pink). The more I looked at the board the more I realized I would like them separated. The next new categories I am considering are home projects, board game content for Instagram, and mini adventures. The last I realize is not a "project" but the deliberate thinking to plan and follow through on adventures and dates is similar enough to projects. I think all three would be good additions to the board.
Embroidery:
I did not touch the night forest project again. I am not sure if I even want to finish it. There is no spark in the work just the thought that I'll be done and then do something I enjoy. Which is better completing it or just starting on something I would enjoy creating now?
Scrapbooks:
I like the idea of saving memories and scrapbooking. I buy the supplies, start a book, pick pictures to print. I have never finished a single scrapbook. That is going to start to change. The first two projects that I am going to finish is a 2025 family photobook. It is nearly ready to print. I need to add some requested photos and it should be ready for printing. On deck, and likely a summer project, is a travel scrapbook from our 2018 Alaska trip. I have the first seven days done. But some of the pictures needed to be reprinted. I have not touched it in ten months.
