WIP: March 4

It's Work In Progress Wednesday!

I am just excited that I have been able to maintain posting three weeks in a row. I think tomorrow I will return to regular Thankful Thursday posting again. And here are the project updates:

Kanban Board:

The cards are done. Early January Alex and I wrote down all the projects we were thinking about; this included projects already started, ones we bought supplies for that have been collecting dust, and many that we've been talking about but are still just ideas. The list was long, 50+ projects.

We divided them into these colour coordinated categories: purple = cosplay, blue = sewing, yellow = Alex's projects, pink = my projects, green = Christmas. We may need a new card colour for home projects but currently those are divided between Alex and my piles. I also wonder about a colour for yarn projects be they knitting or crochet.

With the cards finished the Kanban Board is in full use. If you are familiar with the system, we have modified the traditional sections slightly. Our first area (far left) is the upcoming projects, the next at bat. We decided putting all of them up on the board at once would be overwhelming. So only our most current projects are up with new cards being added as projects are completed.

The second section is projects at the start line. The supplies are being gathered, any research is being done, or skills needed to be learned. The third section is projects in progress. And the last section is for celebrating the victories of completed projects.

Crochet:

It has been a delightful week of making. The lamb lovey is finished; I started a goose lovey. The goose is almost done as well with the wings and a tail remaining.

Then when I was out yesterday I found blue for an elephant lovey, which I started on the drive back. I also picked back up the blanket that I had put on the shelf for the last eleven months. It is slow going but I was able to add four rows and a bit.

Embroidery:
It is hard to see the progress in the picture. The "stars" are finished with French knots and more of the trees have been done. The instructions only have a few more steps. It has not been my favourite kit; I have been struggling with the quality of the fabric and how much the threads blend into the image. I have an idea on an extra touch that I hope will improve my enjoyment of the process without ruining the final piece.
