WIP: Mar 25 + The Eve of Happy Duck Days
This week's Work In Progress Wednesday lands on the eve Happy Duck Days, a 30 day spring holiday Alex and I created in 2021 that has brought us great joy. Celebrations have been simple but evolving with gifting of yellow tulips, outdoor walks, looking for ducks, and jumping in puddles when possible is encouraged. Festive foods are often spring salads and berry desserts.
It is also the 30 days before my birthday so it has become a sort of celebratory countdown to finish any birthday challenges I have remaining. This year's goals are to have four mini spring adventures, finish an alphabet board game challenge (remaining letters are E, N, O, V, Y, and Z), and play more games.
I learned this week that today is also, Tolkien Reading Day, which is the very best way to prepare for Happy Duck Days. https://www.tolkiensociety.org/society/events/reading-day/ To commemorate my first ever Tolkien Reading Day I listened to Andy Serkis read the Hobbit while playing The Hobbit: There and Back again. Now, on with the project updates:
Kanban Board:
I did change the yarn (knitting or crochet projects) colour to a light pink. It is a small change but I think it improves the board. I've also created a colour for home projects. Next step is to hang the board, which will come after we wallpaper an accent wall. New categories maybe added in the future.Crochet:
I got two rows completed on the blankets and a few rows on the elephant.
School:
I finished two assignments and have one final paper looming (due April 6).
Other Projects:
We had a delightful week of with two birthday celebrations, hosting in our home, I finished a novel, and I have been having a lovely time building our small board game Instagram account by joining a #springintoboardgame daily prompt. It has been a great week. It did mean that all other projects were on hold this week. They are there for a quiet night in the future.
