Make It Monday: November 17

It's been Christmas in my papercraft world the past few weeks. Here are a few of the things I've worked on or was part of one of my Christmas Card workshops:

Partridge Wrapping Paper and Cards

This might be my favourite stamp set in the 2014 Holiday Catalog. I love the words, I love colouring it, I love the cute single pear that is perfect creating a matching envelope and adding a decorative touch on the inside of the card. The I also used it to wrap my FA Christmas gift. We'll be making more wrapping paper at my "Tags and Bags" workshop in December (let me know if you want to attend).
Stamp Set: Partridge and Pears
Ink: Early Espresso
Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green, and Whisper White
Other: Real Red ribbon, Stampin Up! markers, roll of brown paper, Stampin' Dimensional, and adhesives (I like the Stampin Up! Snail).
Let It Snow

I loved this card when I saw it on Pinterest. The biggest change, I used white as my "base" and added the Lost Lagoon as a layer to the front. Also, the original has metal brads on the snowflakes. I really like the look; it helps finish the card. I had planned on adding rhinestones but I've sadly misplace them. The upside my Stampin Up! should arrive this week which has more rhinestones.
Stamp Set: Endless Wishes
Ink: Lost Lagoon and Basic Grey
Cardstock: Lost Lagoon and Whisper White
Other: Embossing folder -Stylish Stripes, Big Shot, Stampin' Dimensional, and adhesive.
It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

White Christmas is another cute set. It also has a "Merry Christmas" banner, reindeer, snowman, star, and a second cardinal. I've seen some beautiful cards done with this set. When my Stampin Up! order arrived I'm going to add some Dazzlin' Diamonds glitter to the trees and snow to make the card sparkle.
Stamp Set: White Christmas and Festival of Trees
Ink: Basic Black
Designer Series Paper: All Is Calm
Cardstock: Smoky Slate and Whisper White
Other: Silver ribbon, Stampin' Up markers, and adhesive.
Gift Cards
I love this gift card. It is a 4x4, and it is very easy to make. I've used the design for every gift card I've needed this year. It might be my next tutorial.
Stamp Set: Festival of Trees and Endless Wishes
Ink: Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler
Designer Series Paper: Under the Tree
Cardstock: Real Red, Crumb Cake, and Crushed Curry
Other: Tree punch, Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack (star), Stampin' Dimensional, and adhesive.
Three Trees
This is another card I found on Pinterest. I liked it the way it was so I made very few changes. It was trail and error figuring out the best spacing/dimensions of the strip (and now I can't remember them).
Stamp Set: Festival of Trees and Endless Wishes
Ink: Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler
Designer Series Paper: Trim the Tree Paper Stack
Cardstock: Garden Green, Crushed Curry, and Whisper White
Other: Tree punch, Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack (star), Stampin' Dimensional, and adhesive,
I'm hosting another Christmas Card workshop this week. It will be five new/different card designs for $15. If you are interested in joining the fun let me know and I'll reserve your spot! I will be posting the cards we made next Monday. There is also a "Set of Cards to Give" and  a "Tags and Bags" workshop happening in December.

The Simple Woman Daybook 146

FOR TODAY: November 16, 2014
You can find the more daybooks at Simple Woman's Blog.

Outside my window...snow covered trees. I feel bad for the trees, the snow seemed to have surprised them because many still had green leaves or had not yet dropped their leaves.

I am thinking about...sin (specifically talking with kids about sin because it is part of my lesson this morning), blogging, and my up coming week.

I am thankful for...Kim.

In the kitchen...are too many take out containers.

I am pumps (which I always found to be a strange name for a shoe), black and white patterned skirt, red tank top under about black blouse with a black mini cardigan.

I am creating...a novel about elves.

I am be writing a lot this week.

I am wondering...why some Christians have such a low view of fantasy. A week back I was looking for novel help on forums and read an intense negative reaction to Christian writing any fiction especially fantasy. The words upset me to the point I am still thinking about them.

I am reading...nothing. I have a plan about getting back into regular reading but who was I kidding. It is November. Only one thing happens in my Novembers -writing.

I am hoping...children show up to this mornings Christmas play practices.

I am looking forward to...making cards this weeks.

I am write faster.

I am hearing...the worship team upstairs (I'm in my office at the church).

Around the house...once the take out containers are dealt with the kitchen will be pretty much clean. I have some stamps and crafts to tidy up. And there is always laundry to be done. I have to stay for being half way into November I haven't totally fallen apart this year -which is a nice change.

One of my favorite things...making my daily word didn't always happen this past week but when it does it is pretty awesome.

A few plans for the rest of the week:...I have noble plays to spend the afternoon rotating between writing, tidying & laundry, and card making, I suspect I am going to lay down when I get home and sleep till later afternoon make supper and then write many words.Tomorrow's only commitment is writing group. I hope to do errands in the morning and write afternoon. Tuesday is quiet. Wednesday I had a card making workshop scheduled but at the moment no one has confirmed so it could be another quiet night of writing. Thursday is youth group. And Friday is going to be CRAZY! The 4th Annual Write-All-Night starts at 7 pm and goes till 7 am and I am the host. I love the event but at the moment I am questioning my sanity and realize how much I miss sleep.

The Simple Woman Daybook 145

FOR TODAY: November 1, 2014
You can find the more daybooks at Simple Woman's Blog.

Outside my window...rain.

I am thinking about...blogging, schedules, and potential card projects.

I am thankful for...prescription medication -it is helpful.

In the kitchen...picked up squash at the market today which I plan to roast tomorrow.

I am wearing...flip flops (holding off winter as long as possible with this simple act of defiance), jeans, a Ravenclaw tee, Ravenclaw knit scarf (because I know I am loosing the war against winter), and a Ravenclaw headband. -I do realize there is a certain geek theme to my look.

I am creating...a novel about elves.

I am have an excellent week!

I am wondering...what elves fear most and what a civi war might look like.

I am reading...not much of anything lately. Which got me thinking this morning about a plan to change my reading habits. There are a few books I've been trying to read for awhile but they require a certain amount of thought between. So my idea is to have four"office books" and four "home books." My idea is to assign a day for each book so that I plan to read a portion/chapter.  My office books right now are Home Run, Critical Conversations, Forgotten God, and Replenish. My home books are Incontinent on the Continent, Game of Thrones, Bridge to Heaven, and My One Word. We'll see how it goes.

I am be a very productive writer this weekend and get a head on my word count, it will be very helpful later in the month when other things take over my life like Christmas play practices.

I am looking forward to...making cards and Christmas projects next Saturday.

I am show myself grace.

I am hearing...someone working in the other room.

Around the is clean and decorated because of last nights NaNo Eve party. I got two loads of laundry done this morning. I think to maintain this I need to have people over to my house some time this week.

One of my favorite things...NaNoWriMo -at least the first day when the story ideas are still fresh and exciting.

A few plans for the rest of the week:...I have a few things to do at the church today and a fundraising event for a friends mission trip tonight. Tomorrow the clocks change, I will be at church in the morning, and a drop in write-in in the afternoon. Monday I hope to do errands in the morning, a dentist appointment in the early afternoon, and a NaNo-Write-In in the evening. Tuesday and I have to myself so there should be much writing happening. Thursday is youth group. Friday is a girls night. Saturday I have card making planned but have yet to invite people so it might just be me. And that is my "quiet" week plans.

I think of my plans in fortnight chunks. The first week is quiet. My only scheduled commitment is youth group. The next week is "busy" because there is also Life Group, Garbage Day, and GEMS scheduled.

A Picture To Share:...I stopped in at a games day in New Minas. Erin and I played to round of Forbbiden Desert (an awesome cooperative game). The first game we lost after I died of dehydration. Our second game had much better results -VICTORY WAS OURS!
