Good-Bye Thirty-Five

I like birthday eves. It's often my time to reflect on the pervious twelve months and dream about the coming year.

Today was good but didn't follow my normal birthday eve traditions. There was limited time for the self reflection, journaling, or even blogging. On the upside, I'm finding time now and the rest of the day did include making poached eggs, icing cupcakes, and watching Doctor Who.

This has been a big year. I didn't meet all 35 challenges, but the new experiences and situations changed my focus and lead to new adventures. I am happy with the trade off. The highlights have been:
  • The last weeks with my NS friends
  • Mark East
  • The move home
  • More family time (cause I moved home)
  • Kingdom Bound (three day Christian music festival at an amusement park)
  • Visit to NS
  • Launching my new youth ministry
  • Christmas Eve
  • Welcoming a new pastor/boss in February
  • Organizing a dramatic presentation of the gospel of Mark earlier this month
The 35
If you haven't seen it before, on my birthday I set a number of goals for the year. This year it is "35 While 35;" the challenges are divided into seven areas, spiritual, relationships, adventure, hobbies, culture, health, and second chances.

This is the results of the year:
