Transitions

I am horrible at making omelettes. They start out fine but what ends up on the plate is more of a glorified scrambled thing. There is this delicate moment in the middle of the process when everything falls apart leaving me with egg-mush. It’s all about the transition if you want a prefect omelette; opening my eyes to what a challenge transitions can be. Life is full of transitions and changes; takes patience and care to navigate through them. I am in that “post-Bethany-pre-whatever-I-am-going-to-do-with-my-life”. The future is unknown. What ever it holds I doubt it what I expect. I might end up with egg-mush.

My Cousin Bill’s advice is: “Put a little butter in the pan, it helps the omelette to stop sticking and flip over better. And a sturdy spatula”

Well, since I didn't comment on your previous post, let me be the first to comment here. You are right, transitions are hard and life rarely turns out how we expect it. But even if it doesn't there is still much to be enjoyed and appreciated. Often God's suprises bring so much greater blessings than the things we would have wanted. Just like scrambled eggs, while not the same as an omlette, are still pretty good. Let me also add that I too suck at making omlettes. And my over-easy eggs often get their yokes broken.

hmm....

So the butter is grace...and the spatula is truth. Neat illustration. On the other hand, I've been told I read into things too much sometimes :)

I hate transitions...until they're completed. I hated entering High School, but my senior year was my favorite year of grade school ever. I wasn't happy about going to Bethany, but I loved my time there. I was really nervous about my internship, but God really grew me up in that time. I was afraid to get hired as a full-time minister, but this has been the greatest time of my life.

I've never tried to make an omelette. I don't have cooking skills.

I'm still in that transition time, and I graduated almost a year ago! (not to discourage you or anything...) But I've seen that God has a lot to teach me through this transition and I would have missed out on a lot of things had I hopped right from one thing to another. I'm sick of waiting, but really I know that this "down time" has been very good for me. We'll know where we belong soon enough Elizabeth.

I don't know why transitions are ever hard for girls.

Where do I belong?????

I'll help...in the KITCHEN

The key is to let the eggs cook untill they're alomst all the way done and THEN flip. If you're getting goo, you're probably not being patient enough.

I suck at cooking. So, my comment (aka advice) to you would be, instead of trying to make eggs, why not shoot for a bowl of cereal? =D
