Thankful Thursday on Friday
I have been finding it hard to get back into the grove of blogging on a consistent basis. Good habits are so
hard to form and bad habits are so difficult to break, which is direction related to my first thankfulness of the week: I am thankful that I have (I think) broken my bad habit of biting my nails! I can't think when I stopped I just noticed that I haven't. I think the change happened when my sister and I had a girl night and did our nails. I made a gorgeous set of fake nails that were fun to wear. I liked them so much I forced myself be very careful with them so they would last longer. After I removed them the trend continued. My nails aren't beautiful but they aren't embarrassing any more either.
I am thankful for post-church lunch invitations that make my day bright, craft days with girls and new Stampin Up! supplies, Sherlock TV events, luncheons with acquaints who are becoming friends and then loan me the third season of Downton Abby, and hand me down clothes on a day when I was thinking I need to go shopping. Shopping in friends closets is way better and much cheaper...now I can use that money to change my hair. I am also thankful for my wonderful neighbor. She has been amazing from helping me shovel snow and rescuing my car (which I got stuck in the driveway again) on Wednesday to a baker who shares goodies. In fact if she knows I'm having company she makes treats just for my friends. And tonight she texted me to warn that the power was out so that I should not try to rush home to make a meal before girls club at the church. That was a huge help. She is the sweetest and amazing. This has been a week filled with reasons to be thankful.
Now for something new, The Thankful Thursday Thank You Card. Back in October I became an independent Stampin Up! demonstrator (I even have a site for online shopping). I've been enjoying the new venture and the opportunity to be more creative with paper-crafts. The next step is to also sell cards I have made.
I have also been looking for ways to share my creations and what could be a better place than right here on the blog. There are a few weekly challenges I would like to get involved in in the future but for now I am going to start small. In addition to the regular Thankful Thursday sharing I am going to add a Thank You card I have made with details to the supplies I used, maybe tips, and links in cases where the desire was inspired by someone else's work.
Stamp Sets: Happy Watercolor and Papillon Potpourri
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, Daffodil Delight, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, and Island Indigo
Paper: Whisper White
Other: Bitty Butterfly Punch and Stampin' Dimensionals
