TGIO

Last night was my final event as the ML for NaNoWriMo 2010; the annual "Thank God it's Over" party. We ate cupcakes, awarded the Golden Apple, drew for prizes, wrote a short story, and celebrated of the end of novel writing for another year.

If I had found this parody of Portal's Credit song "Still Alive" earlier I would have shared it with the group. Instead I share it with you. It has some very true observations about the post nano experience:

The following "story" may seem bizarre, random, and completely disjointed that's because it is. It was a group game. Everyone one wrote one line in the story but they only had the previous persons sentence as a reference:

A NaNo Short Story*

Once upon a time there was an ML named Liz.
She liked to play tic-tac-toe on muffins.
Her favourite part was getting to eat the muffins when she won.
But it was never enough to keep her satisfied until the next time.
She always wanted more ice cream.
But sadly, she was lactose intolerant.
So she ate a banana split, but didn't realize it was real ice cream.
She felt the inside of her mouth freeze so she held it over a burning wood stove.
She quickly realized her her mistake as the stove fire when out and the stove itself froze solid.
