North to Alaska: Day 4 & 5 at Sea

The first full day at sea was a bit of an adjustment for all of us. No one was sick-sick but  we all took motion-sickness pills at some point and there were naps. The weather has been good, smooth sailing...even though the ship doesn't have a sail. There were moderate waves that increased the rocking a bit (and lead to our general ickyness). All have recovered.

Between meals, which have been fabulous there is so many things going on. There have been trivia, nature lectures, wellness seminars, movies, and more. At any given hour there are about five activity options. I surprisingly stood in one of the jewelry shops three different occasions for the hope of having my name drawn and winning some fancy something.

I did enjoy the totem craving demonstrations.

Sister and I enjoyed another movie under the stars. This time the feature was Black Panther. We also decided to not watch from the hot tub. The pools closed before the movie would end and we had learned the night before that it got cold when wet and waiting for the movie to end.

The second full day was formal night (we did not dress up and just ate at the buffet). It was cool seeing everyone dressed to the nines. Then the parents and I walked the "British Invasion" show. It was a nice cabaret of 60s and 70s British hits. The show was well done, there were some interesting musical choices. We also discussed our disagreement with the song selectors over what should be considered the British Invasion.

The two days have really blended into one memory. It has been lovely. I enjoy seeing the ocean and the sky. I have tons of pictures for watercolour inspiration. I am looking forward to the day that what is painted is remotely similar to the original concept or image.

Next up: our first port of call.
