Wednesday Weekly Art #11

I started this weeks watercolour practice with colour mixing. Trying to see how the pigments interact, which make new colours and which make mud. 

I then just played with how to mix the colours.

Before the trip I picked up Handbook of Watercolour Landscapes Tips and Techniques. Tonight I tried one of the landscapes tutorials. I think I might be too impatient for watercolours. The sky and the first layer of clouds turned out well. The rest is a bit of a mess.  The trees started fine, but the foreground is icky. I'm also getting frustrated with the limited pallet (lacking purple) and a single brush.
