Ruth Translation: 1:4 to 1:6

Hello Friends and Faithful Readers,

Welcome to back to the next in section of the Translation Project. Yesterday I gave an introduction on why I am translating Ruth from Hebrew into English and shared the first three verses.

Today we are looking at Ruth 1:4-6.

Ruth 1:4

And they took for themselves Moabite wives. The first was named Orpah and the second was named Ruth.

After they dwelt there about ten years...

Ruth 1:5

Mahlon and Chilion also died. And so the woman was left without her two boys and her husband.

Ruth 1:6

And then she rose, she and her daughters-in-law, and she returned from the territory of Moab, for she had heard in the fields of Moab that the Lord had attended to his people giving to them bread.

See you tomorrow!

In Ruth 1:6 how are you sure that it is translated "the Lord had attended to his people"? I have definitely read different translations.
